It is the year 3024, and Earth finds itself in dire straits. An alien civilization from an unidentified planet far away has laid siege on our precious blue marble. You, rocket man, are our only hope of survival. Experiments have shown alien skin to be impenetrable to every known form of ammunition thus invented. Lucky for you, they are not immune to death by crushing, and there just so happens to be an asteroid outside of Earth's atmosphere. Use your jetpack to fly around and your blaster to redirect the asteroid's trajectory across the screen and smash the enemy to pieces, but be careful to avoid the asteroid yourself, lest you meet an equally flattened fate. This species we're dealing with comes in many varieties, each with unique physical characteristics and behavioral patterns, yet all seemingly have only one thing on their mind--complete and total annihilation of the human race! Survive as long as you can; every second you stall them is another second our researchers have to find a solution. The fate of the Earth now rests in your hands. Good luck, rocket man.

Rock Et Man is an arcade wave-survival game designed to incentivize careful, methodical positioning and strategy within an action-packed shoot 'em up experience. Foresight will be your greatest ally, but this game will force you to act quickly and find the most optimal plan on the fly as you weave through enemies to line up for the perfect shot, your only means of safety transforming into a ricocheting ball of self-imposed doom upon contact with your bullet. This is my 2nd published game, and I had an absolute blast creating it all. I would highly appreciate any feedback, praise, or criticism you have :)

Cool idea!

It feels like squash or something, but it's very unique.

Some notes I have:

- I think the combo bar needs to be closer to the score UI

Some suggestions I have:

- At the beginning of the level, you could probably just add a prompt for the controls as a simple first time tutorial

i.e. WASD to move, then add a "shoot this" on top of the block

The moment the player shoots the block, it can disappear.

- Make it more noticeable when gun can be shot

- Maybe have a dash you can use to quickly dart left and right

- The bullets should show to phase through, or get blocked by the enemies to make it look ineffective.

- I'd like a hard mode where maybe it's one hit, and maybe you can get shield powerups, to block a hit for you.

- Maybe character being able to duck can help you dodge the enemies or the incoming block.

- Adding a SFX when next wave starts

Overall I think I see potential in this.

I think there might be more to this. Can't wait for future updates.

Maybe more levels, more enemy types, more challenges?

Good stuff.

This feedback is really appreciated :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to play the game! I'm glad you seemed to have enjoyed it. I am quite busy for the next little while, which is why I released the game when I did, but I promise I will get around to implementing some of the smaller improvements you suggested. As for your requests for totally new content, I don't know when I'll get around to expanding the feature set of this game, as in addition to other IRL stuff, I am planning to start work on a new, quite different game. However, while working on this small project, I did have a feeling that this game was bigger than what I was making - that there were other whole features and dimensions to it waiting for me to explore - so I can totally see me returning to this to add more; probably it would be a second, alternative harder mode with new enemies/mechanics... maybe that dash feature you suggested.
